Carolyn Reynolds
was first introduced to yoga in 1987 by a friend who invited her to
attend a class as a guest. The
class was taught by Diane Steinberg whose spiritual mentor is Ram Dass.
And now Diane remains a constant nurturing spiritual mentor for
Carolyn. Two years after
that first class Carolyn earned her Kripalu Yoga Teacher’s
Certificate in July 1989 at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and
Health in Lenox, Massachusetts. The month long training, under the
leadership of Yoga Amrit Desai, was one of her most treasured
experiences.
Yogi Amrit Desai and Carolyn, Atlanta 2002 Since then Carolyn has earned certificates as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, as a teacher of DansKinetics™ Spirit in Motion and as a YogaKids™ facilitator. She is also certified in WholeBirth™ Prenatal Yoga. Carolyn holds a 500 hour yoga teacher training certificate from Kirpalu Center and recognized by the Yoga Alliance. ·
Phoenix Rising Yoga
Therapy combines the ancient tradition of hatha yoga with elements of
contemporary psychology to create a powerful and effective path to
wellness. ·
Danskinetics (TM) is a
dynamic experience that takes students through a journey of inner
rhythms and expressive movements. It draws from the roots of yoga that

practices of Yoga philosophy continues through the oral teachings of
Swami J of the Himalayan Tradition.
Swami J and Ganga Ma Carolyn earned her Masters degree in
Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University and a B.A. in
Psychology from Duquesne University. She has served the public school
system as a School Psychologist since 1979.
She lives in Niceville with her husband Jerry and two adopted
greyhounds, Christyna and Tommy. Emerald Coast Yoga was formed in January of 2000 by Carolyn Reynolds, Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist; and Nancy LaNasa, Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. It is the vision and desire of Emerald Coast Yoga to promote and support Yoga in the Florida Panhandle, helping people who live and vacation here to seek out and enjoy certified, knowledgeable Yoga instructors. Emerald Coast Yoga supports ongoing
continued education for Yoga instructors and practitioners. We also
support the efforts of Yoga Alliance to uphold the integrity of Yoga,
establish voluntary national standards for Yoga teachers, and provide
support for Yoga professionals in the United States.
